INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES AT ANCF

ANCF offers internship opportunities to students and young professionals to work at the Foundation on themes related to nature conservation and sustainable development. Candidates could be from backgrounds ranging from the natural, applied and social sciences besides law, engineering and business management.

Selected interns could be assigned  to work on an ongoing ANCF project under the supervision of a senior ANCF staff member.  The applicant would then depend on ANCF to assign him or her an available project. Alternately, an applicant could bring with him or her a project idea or theme for study which, upon approval by ANCF management,  could be pursued during the period of the internship with advisory support from one or more ANCF staff.

A typical internship would be of 2 months duration but shorter or longer periods could be negotiated in accordance with the nature of the project.

Internships at ANCF would usually offer a stipend of Rs 3000 per month which is intended to meet local transportation and other incidental costs. If the project involves outstation travel to a field site, ANCF would reimburse all normal travel and subsistence expenses on an ‘actuals’ basis.

Applicants for ANCF internships normally are required to have their applications forwarded by the Heads of their respective institutions. However interns could also be young mid career professionals not currently attached to an institution.

Applications could be sent vide a letter conveying interest in applying for an internship position and specifying the period over which the internship was desired. The letter could be accompanied by a biodata of the applicant.  ANCF will process the application within a period of two weeks and convey the decision to the applicant.

At the end of the internship each participant would receive a formal certificate indicating the successful completion of the internship.
